Early Mornings and Cardigan Days

(Intern Bloggers, from L-R: Katherine, Jarrard, Colleen, Sarah, Ed)

Now that it’s Wednesday afternoon, and we’ve had a great day of interviews and filming, I’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on a special event that occurred this morning.

Today began early for our intern team— we were aiming to be on site by 7 a.m, which meant wake-up should have happened at 5:45.  It didn’t.  In an effort to combat the morning fatigue and at the urging of British Ed (the intern, not the EM: HE host), we declared today Cardigan Day. I was decidedly uncomfortable with this proclamation, mainly because I don’t own a cardigan and Katherine had to provide one for me. After Ed convinced me that Katherine’s cardigan was actually a male cardigan because the buttons were on the right side, I pulled it on and decided it didn’t feel too bad. It worked very well at repelling the morning chill.  On site, I received some looks (Chad, head of onsite security, was particularly amused), but I patiently explained to everyone that it was Cardigan Day, and that I really don’t have a choice but to don the gray terror (pictured above).
