We’re Hungry, Hungry Helpers
In a recent post, Colleen highlighted the efforts of the meal committee and their determination to serve meals around the clock to hungry volunteers. I was intrigued by the points Colleen raised in her blog, so I decided to investigate just how much we really eat. So far we have used:
- 6,000 lbs of ice
- 15,000 paper products
- 30,000 napkins
- 2,500 cups
- 62 gallons of sweet tea
- 2,400 bags of McDonald’s coffee
- 500 jars of peanut butter
- 1,000 packages of cookies
- 3,000 bags of potato chips
- 459 cases of Coca-Cola products
- 65 pans of hush puppies
The meal committee has raised an impressive $150,000 in food contributions! From our family of interns to every volunteer who has been a part of the process, thank you for everything you have done for the Cooper family. It is truly an honor to be a small part of the process.
